First Birthday Outfit

My little girl turned one. I still can't believe how big she's getting. But this blog is for crafts, so let's talk baby outfit.

I went to hobby lobby and got a cute zebra onesie that fit her perfectly. I then went into microsoft word and made a number 1 in the font I thought looked best.  It was rather large and it became my pattern.  I had some fabric left over from a different project that worked perfectly well.

I also used iron on adhesive (I can't remember the name now) that the lady at hobby lobby gave me. It was a life saver and SO easy.  Just iron it onto your fabric (after cutting out your pattern) on the wrong side. Then peel off (the hard part) the backing and stick onto where you want the applique.  I ironed it on, and then I hand stitched around the number 1.  I think that it's hard to machine sew a onesie, personally. Besides, I just sat by my husband and chatted while I did it.

Here is the finished product:

I am very proud of it. I thought it up and did it myself. She looked so incredibly cute in it and I just loved all the comments I got.

As always, comments are appreciated.
