Arrival Party

I hosted an arrival party for our little boy this past weekend. It was a lot of fun and very low key. I'm so happy it all went well.

The thing is, I love the whole baby shower idea, but with the second baby it's not as big of a deal. Except that this time I had a boy and wanted some fun boy things! I didn't push for a shower because I had read about what some people do for their second baby and that was an arrival party. Pretty much invite people over after baby is born to see him - oh, and gifts were optional. I just wanted to see people and throw a fun little open house for my baby.

The cupcakes were the same recipe that I'd done before. So good, but I need to remember to stir the batter in the end a little better, it kinda clumps to the bottom. That doesn't stop the cupcakes from being delicious, though.  Also, I found a recipe for home made sparkling apple cider - kinda.  2 frozen apple juice and 4 liters of club soda.  I don't think I'll ever make it again. Not my favorite drink because it needed less club soda. I guess we could try it again... or just buy the cider. That would be easier.

I also was able to show off a little of my project life binder! I am so excited about this and I'm happy to keep up with it. This is the spread for March. Cute, huh?

Anyway, the party went well, the weather was wonderful so kids went outside to play and we were able to chat and catch up a little. I guess this was my "I'm not hibernating anymore" party after having a winter baby. I'm so glad the weather is gonna change soon.
