My Goal this year

I've said it before but this year I really want to get 72 hour kits together for my family. My daughter is in undies and my son is in a stable diaper size, so I can get them together without a ton of hassle.

A few years ago I found a fun blog on emergency preparedness that shows how to make 72 hour kits for your family. It is an 8 week course... but I will be making it a bit longer. I need to save up a bit for the things that go in the kit, so we'll be trying for all year.

2015 will be the year of getting ready.

#1 - STORAGE (Shelving, Backpacks, and Bins)

- basically we need an area for the stuff. I looked on Amazon for some small backpacks for the kids, but I think I'll just get regular sized ones. They will need them in the future. Also I found some larger backpacks for myself and my husband. I'm sure we'll have to carry the food/water and most of the supplies seeing as my kids are only 3 and 2 right now. Here's the one on Amazon for $10. I wanted a waist strap to make it easier on me.

- We have a storage area set aside for them and a lot of places have bins on sale right now. That's a win for everyone!

I'll update you all when I can.
