Quilt Day 3

Today was the first day that I was able to begin and finish an entire square for the farmhouse quilt. I was proud that I could start cutting out and finish the quilt in a few hours. It would've been less time but my sister showed up and we got to chat a bit.

My sewing station. My mom's sewing room was my bedroom growing up. It has been fun to be back there.  This is the little desk that she found in the garage and put in the room. I think she's so excited to have someone to sew with. In truth, so am I.

I did okay - but messed up my first little bit. So I had to rip it out and start again. At least it was an easy fix and everything turned out perfectly.

This was a fairly simple square to put together. It was an easy construction. I just had to take it slow to make sure I didn't make any more mistakes.

The finished project turned out perfectly. I was pretty impressed that the corners matched up so perfectly. That center is amazing! Okay, I'm done talking about the points. I'm just proud.

I'll be back in a few weeks. I'll be making another interesting block and I think it may take me a few days to make because I won't have a lot of time. I've got a few other plans that day.

Today I put on the musical 'Into the Woods' and it was so much fun. I haven't listened to a musical straight through for awhile. We sang along as we cut fabric and sewed blankets. It was fun to talk about the characters and the the differences between the musical and the movie. (musical is better, fyi) I'm interested in what we'll talk about next time. btw, best characters: my mom = the witch. Mine = the witch or Jack or... I love them all for various reasons. haha
